Integrated Thermal Unit

An integrated thermal management system that combines various thermal components into one unit. All refrigerant circuit components, coolant HV heater, pumps and valves, and temperature sensors are integrated within the unit. The ITU is equipped with an ECU containing the Control SW and covers all heat pump and A/C modes.

Cabin Conditioning
Cabin cooling is done through the heat pump. Cabin heating - through the heat pump or the coolant HV heater or waste heat recovery. Cabin demist is done through the heat pump or the coolant HV heater. Cabin dehumidification - through the heat pump.
Battery Conditioning
Battery cooling is done through the heat pump or passively. Battery heating - through the heat pump or the coolant HV heater or waste heat recovery.
Drive Unit and Power Electronics Conditioning
Drive Unit and Power Electronics cooling is done through waste heat recovery or passively.
